Cadmium plating in Toronto is not demanded as it once was, however, H&E Plating Ltd still plates “Cad” regularly. Our electroplating shop in Scarborough has rack, barrel, and micro-barrel Cadmium lines operating. We can handle lengths of up to 12 feet on our rack line. Small lot orders of less than a Lb, on our micro line, are a walk in the industrial park. From aerospace, to mining to the hobbyist restoring a vintage automobile our plating shop has you covered.
Why Cadmium Plating?
Electroplated cadmium is a robust and versatile metallic coating. Cadmium is a soft white metal that, when plated onto steel, cast iron, malleable iron, copper, and powdered metal, functions as a “sacrificial coating,” corroding before the substrate material. Offering solderability, cathodic protection of steel, galvanic compatibility with aluminum, excellent lubricity, freedom from stick-slip when torquing, malleability, and economy.
